Visitors come to Siem Reap to see the temples, but there is plenty to do in and around the city. Siem Reap has reinvented itself as the centre of chic Cambodia. From street food to world-class dining across a range of cuisines, spas, great shopping.
This region was the site of successive capitals of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 15th centuries. The Angkor Archaeological Park is located about four miles north of the city center. The incredible 150-square-mile complex includes the famous Angkor Wat Temple, which is the largest religious monument in the world.
Siem Reap is only 150km from the Thai border.
