The travel and tourism guide business is regulated by the Tourist Business and Guide Act. Before engaging in the tourist business, a tour company must apply for a TAT license (tourist authority of Thailand)
Ace Tours operate under the outbound and inbound licence, which means that we can run tours both in Thailand and into the neighboring countries. This required us to place a 200,000 baht bond, have actual business premises and have a legitimate Thai company (just a few of the legal requirements).
According to the act, there are numerous requirements which must be satisfied and documents which must be submitted before a licence is issue. TAT have recently introduced the “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” certification aimed at elevating the country’s tourism industry standards and developing confidence among international and domestic tourists. The Amazing Thailand SHA project is a part of TAT’s realigned strategy amid the COVID-19 crisis.
BUT (Beware Unlicenced Tours). There are unlicenced tours where are operators simply 'ride out' with clients. These are uninsured and illegal.
