Sirikit Dam was constructed under the Development of the Nan River Basin Project to prevent flooding in the southern area of Uttaradit Province. The Dam is situated in Tha Pla District, Uttaradit Province. Later on, the dam was named “Sirikit Dam” after the name of Her Majesty the Queen.
It is Thailand's largest earthen dam, straddling the Nan River. The dike itself is 800 metres long.The lake offers beautiful vistas during the cool season with blossoms adorn the area. Accommodation and boat rentals are available on site.
